A family-friendly Pride celebration in the Royal Pavilion Garden. Attendees are invited to bring their own picnic to this alcohol-free, safe space event.
Pavilion Pride Picnic takes over the Royal Pavilion Gardens on Saturday 1 August, from 11:00 to 15:00. It's a Pride celebration set up as a family-safe space, and the whole thing is built around the simple idea of bringing your own picnic and spending the morning and early afternoon celebrating Pride in the gardens. It's one of the events that forms part of the wider Pride programming across Brighton that summer.

Because it's a picnic, you'll want to pack your own food and drink to keep you going through the session. The gardens are a great spot for it, and the family-safe focus means it's designed for all ages to hang out together. It's a relaxed way to mark Pride without needing a full day's itinerary—just a few hours in the open air with your own spread and plenty of pride to bring along.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind before you head down. First, it's a strictly alcohol-free zone, so leave the booze at home. Second, while it's open to all ages, there's a specific requirement: you have to attend with children. If you're planning to go, make sure you've got the little ones with you.
Entry is free, but you do need to book your place in advance, so it's worth sorting that early rather than turning up on the day. The gardens are right in the centre of town, and the event runs from 11:00 to 15:00 on Saturday 1 August.
