Electronic music night featuring Paranoid London and Logan Fisher, presented by Evil Plans at The British Engineerium.
Paranoid London and Logan Fisher are playing The British Engineerium on Saturday 16 October, as part of the Our Friends Electric series. It's the next instalment at the venue, and the night is presented by Evil Plans, the underground UK electronic club brand, record label and radio show run by Ed Tomlinson and Jamie Tolley, who describe the project as inspired by figures like Andrew Weatherall.
Paranoid London's whole thing is built on a specific point: that acid house came out of gay, Black Chicago and from scenes the mainstream spent years ignoring. They've kept that at the front of their work, and they're just as committed to vinyl as they are to that history. It's a band that doesn't just play the music but keeps talking about where it actually came from, and that's a good part of what they bring to the stage.
Sharing the bill is Logan Fisher, a DJ and party starter who's been playing and curating club nights for over twenty years. He's worked his way from London's Plastic People through the Shoreditch scene, and he's a co-founder and resident DJ of the cult warehouse parties Tryouts For The Human Race. Between him and Paranoid London, the night covers both the dancefloor and the stage, with the DJ set and the live act running side by side.
