A night of hypnotic club music journeying from light sounds to driving techno, hard house and trance at Alphabet.
Novo Speed returns to Alphabet on Saturday 12 September, another night of the club series that's built its name on a specific kind of progression. The line-up this time is Florence and Alex Berry B2B Shelby, and the night follows the usual Novo Speed arc: it starts light and floaty, then gradually unfolds into driving techno, euphoric hard house and trance.
If you've been before, you know the drill. It's a long-haul journey that earns its name, moving from the more melodic, atmospheric end of things towards the heavier, faster stuff as the night goes on. The B2B from Alex Berry and Shelby means they'll be working the decks together, trading off and building on each other's selections rather than playing separate sets. It's that kind of back-and-forth that usually keeps the energy moving when the tempo starts to climb.
Alphabet is one of Brighton's better-kept secrets, tucked away behind Churchill Square. It's a proper basement club โ dark, smoky, and with a real club feel that's hard to find elsewhere in the city. It's the kind of space that suits this kind of night, where the room closes in around you and the music does the heavy lifting.

One thing to keep in mind: advance tickets for the last event sold out, and plenty of people were turned away at the door. If you're planning on going, it's probably worth getting yours sorted early rather than leaving it to chance on the night. The night kicks off at 22:30, and tickets are ยฃ8.
