Milkshake Brighton are taking over Horizon Nightclub on Thursday 1 October for their Freshers Moving In rave, part of the first moving-in weekend of the term. It's an 18+ night, so you'll need ID to get in.
If you're not familiar with the name, Milkshake started back in 2002 and launched the first student party at Ministry of Sound, eventually growing into London's biggest weekly midweek student event before they brought the night down to Brighton. For this one, they're taking over Horizon for the first moving-in weekend of the term, with a mix of hip-hop, R&B, drill, house and drum & bass. The production is on the heavier side, too: CO2 cannons, confetti, a seafront terrace, and a VIP room and balcony.
The line-up brings together a few names you'll recognise. Martin 2 Smoove is known for Gumball 3000, and DJ Andy Purnell has toured with Central Cee. DJ James Bluck has played Reading Festival and BBC Radio 1 Dance, and they're joined by the resident DJs. Between them, they'll be working through that mix of hip-hop, R&B, drill, house and drum & bass, so the night covers a fair bit of ground.
