Meet STEM Talent 2026

Meet STEM Talent 2026 is at the DoubleTree Hilton Brighton Metropole on Thursday 22 October, starting at 18:00. It's a networking and employability evening run on behalf of the Data-Intensive Science Centre (DISCUS) and the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine (FoSEM) at the University of Sussex.

The whole thing is set up as a room where you can talk to the next generation of STEM talent coming out of the Faculty. That means undergraduates, Masters students, and PhDs, all with a passion for data. They'll be there alongside leading academic staff and local industry professionals, so it's a mix of students, professors, and people working in the field rather than a formal presentation or a lecture.

If you're in the local industry and looking for new talent, it's a chance to meet students across different levels of study in one place. If you're a student, it's a way to get in front of potential employers and academic staff without having to cold-email your way in. The focus is on data, which runs through the work of both DISCUS and the Faculty, so that's the common ground everyone there will share.

It's held at the DoubleTree Hilton Brighton Metropole, 106-121 Kings Road, BN1 2FU, on Thursday 22 October from 18:00. Standard tickets are free.
