Madness headline their own two-day festival event 'Madrophenia' on Brighton Beach, featuring special guests including The Selecter.
Brighton Beach is set to host a two-day event this summer called Madrophenia, organised by the band Madness. The event will take place on Madeira Drive, Brighton, BN2 1EN, on the 23rd and 24th of July 2026. If you are planning to head down, keep in mind that the gates open at 3:00 PM each day, with a strict curfew set for 10:00 PM. It is worth noting that the event is cashless, so you will need to have your cards or digital payment methods ready for any purchases inside.

The lineup for the two days is quite distinct. On the 23rd of July, the stage will feature performances from The Selecter, Craig Charles, and The Beatles Dub Club, alongside the hosts, Madness. The following day, the 24th of July, will see sets from David Rodigan and the Hot 8 Brass Band. The Blockheads are also scheduled to perform across the event. While tickets are required for entry, it is worth checking availability beforehand, as the date for the 24th of July is already listed as sold out. There is a limited allocation of tickets for personal assistants (PA) if you require specific access support.
Regarding the logistics of the site, the organisers have implemented a few specific policies. The event is open to those aged 16 and over, though anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are looking at VIP access, be aware that this is strictly for those 18 and older. You will not be allowed to bring your own food or drink into the venue, though there will be free water points available. Security will be checking bags, and only those of A4 size or smaller will be permitted. Re-entry is not allowed once you are inside.
For those concerned about accessibility, the site is designed with specific facilities in mind. There are dedicated viewing platforms, accessible toilets, and a designated access area on-site. Additionally, the main area directly in front of the stage has been covered with flooring to make navigation easier. It is a straightforward setup for a weekend of live music right on the seafront, provided you have your plans and tickets sorted in advance.
