Logan Fisher and Wallace

Logan Fisher and Jimmy Wallace are playing Waterbear on Saturday 12 September, a DJ session with the two of them sharing the bill. The venue is The Kings Road Arches, 169-170, Brighton, BN1 1NB.

If you're not already familiar with Wallace, he's known for leftfield, nature-inspired house and UK techno. His sound is built around field recordings and environmental sounds he's picked up from his travels, so it's the kind of thing that brings in textures you don't usually hear on a dancefloor. He's put out well-received EPs on Rhythm Section, Phantasy Sound, and Studio Barnhus, and he holds a residency at Berlin's Panorama Bar, one of the most famous clubs in the city.

Between the field recordings and the techno, there's a clear thread of sound that's as much about the world outside the club as it is about the one inside. That's the side of his work that usually stands out: the way he weaves in recordings from his travels and lets them sit alongside the house and techno. It's a good way to get a sense of what he does before you head down.
