Popular live music nights held at the historic Bohemia venue in the Lanes, featuring cover pop, funk, soul, rock, blues and steam punk.
Live Music Thursdays are back at Bohemia on Thursday 23 July, with the music running from around 21:30 to 23:30. It's a regular night that's become one of Brighton's most popular live music spots, and it's easy to see why: it's free entry, and it's tucked away in the Lanes.
The music is the main draw, and the range they cover is wide. You'll hear cover pop, funk, soul, rock, and blues, and they even bring in steampunk acts. Because the line-up changes every week, the sound shifts too — one Thursday might lean towards soul and funk, the next more towards rock and pop. The full list of bands playing each week is posted on Bohemia's website and their social media channels, so it's worth checking those if you're after a particular style.
Bohemia itself is an eclectic artistic venue in the heart of the Lanes, and the music isn't the only thing on the go. They're known for their molecular cocktails, alongside casual drinks and food, so you can settle in for the night rather than just popping in for a set. There's an island bar and dinner tables that you can reserve in advance, and dancing is encouraged, so it works as well for a proper night out as it does for a casual drink and a listen.
