Juliette Burton Presents Villain Era

Juliette Burton brings her solo hour Villain Era to the Caroline of Brunswick on Tuesday 13 October, one of the Brighton stops on her autumn tour. She's fresh from her Edinburgh Fringe 2026 run, and this is the show that comes out of it.

Burton describes herself as a 'former good girl' and spends the hour embracing her inner villain, drawing on fictional villainous women and comic-book characters to shake off the shackles of gender expectation. She frames the whole thing as a comedy quest for grown-up geeks and justice-hungry joy seekers, taking aim at what she calls the 'REAL dragons': inequality and bad sex lives. It's a fast-paced solo hour, so the material moves quickly from one thing to the next.

The Caroline of Brunswick is Burton's Brighton home, where she opens the doors once a month to her ever-expanding creative universe. It's not just stand-up in there; she mixes in interactive games, theatrical experiments, witchcraft, superheroes and board games. Villain Era fits right into that mix. The show has been reviewed by Edinburgh Festivals Magazine, Starburst Magazine, Daily Mirror, Edinburgh Reviews, The Argus, The New Current, London Theatre, The Female Arts, The VoiceMag, Broadway Baby and Love Fringe.
