Ida Barr returns with her new show, 'Slipped Disco', a mash-up of old-fashioned music hall and contemporary Hip Hop, suitable for ages 14+.
Ida Barr, a long-time favorite in Brighton and the regular MC for ORGANOKE at the Dome since 2016, is returning with her new show, Slipped Disco. Known as the 'legend of Artificial Hip Hop,' Ida Barr continues her signature style by mashing up traditional music hall with contemporary R’n’B and Hip Hop. The show is built around this unique blend, celebrating the complexity and absurdity of life using fresh beats and 'bars' delivered by a self-described proud OAP and old-school stage professional.

This new performance is designed to be a 'communal joy,' featuring Ida Barr’s characteristic singalongs alongside her unique comedic observations. Her material often focuses on life as an older, impoverished woman navigating the modern East End of London, and sources mention that the show may include references to Gaviscon and Deep Heat. If you are planning to go, note that the content is suitable for ages 14 and over. All performances are described as 'chilled,' suggesting a relaxed and accessible atmosphere for the audience.
If you want to catch Slipped Disco, it’s running for two nights in March 2026 at the Studio Theatre within the Brighton Dome. The first performance is on Thursday, March 5th, starting at 8:00 PM.
