The sessions are structured to help participants learn to hoop, improve their existing skills, and master new choreography. The curriculum covers the fundamentals, such as learning to keep the hoop on the waist in both directions, alongside more technical circus-style movements performed off the body. Clare guides the group through these movements, ensuring that the pace remains manageable for those just starting out while still offering enough complexity for those with more experience. Dreamspin Hoop Dance Brighton describes the activity as a low-impact workout that provides a significant cardiovascular challenge while simultaneously assisting with muscle strengthening. The environment is intended to be non-competitive and accessible, designed to accommodate a wide range of people. The classes are suitable for anyone aged between 12 and 65, regardless of their current fitness level or previous experience with the hoop.
The organisation is the original hoop dance company in the city, led by Clare, who has been teaching in Brighton since 2008. She is a qualified and accredited fitness and hoop dance instructor in the UK, bringing years of experience to the sessions. Whether you are a complete beginner picking up a hoop for the first time or someone looking to refresh your technique and learn new patterns, the classes are open to all. Each session is priced at £10.00. You can attend these classes at the Hanover Community Centre throughout the scheduled dates this summer.
