Free Halloween-themed open-ended art activities, including mask-making and ghostly decorations, for children up to 11 and their families at Hopscotch Art Space.
Hopscotch Art Space is running free Halloween crafts over the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. It's at 50A Gloucester Road, in the heart of Brighton, and the activities are open to children up to 11 and their families. The focus is on Halloween-themed making: mask-making and ghostly decorations are on the table, and you can spend as much or as little time as you like on them.
If you haven't come across it yet, Hopscotch Art Space is a free, welcoming creative space run by Hopscotch. It's designed for children and their families to get creative and take a break from the pace of everyday life. Author and illustrator Nick Sharratt officially opened the venue on Saturday 15 August 2026, and it was built on the difference the group's nurseries have seen creativity make to children's confidence, curiosity and wellbeing for almost 40 years. There are no lessons to follow and no expectations: open-ended art activities, artist-led workshops and children's artwork on display, with drawing, painting and collage alongside simply sitting quietly with a sketchbook. It's a central Brighton place where families can put their screens away and make something together without having to pay.
