Interactive screening of a 'Murder, She Wrote' episode with quizzes, singalongs and audience participation, hosted by Tim Benzie.
Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote comes to Komedia on Monday 7 December, starting at 20:00. It's an interactive screening of a classic Murder, She Wrote episode, and the whole night is built around the audience getting involved rather than just sitting back. You'll be watching the episode, but there are games, quizzes, singalongs, and prizes mixed in, and you'll be helping to figure out the mystery as it unfolds. The show runs with special permission from NBC Universal Television.
Hosting the night is Tim Benzie, an Australian super-fan and award-winning playwright who first staged the show at the Sydney Cabaret Festival in 2019 to sell-out crowds. He turns up dressed as Jessica Fletcher herself, and the room decides on the culprit using a 'Fameometer' and a 'Suspiciometer' to track the suspects. It's a cult-hit that started in London and has since played to sell-out audiences across the UK and Australia, with Time Out naming it one of 2019's 50 Great Nights Out in London. Critics have described it as a comedy, a homage, and a comfort blanket.
If you've never seen the show, Murder, She Wrote followed Jessica Fletcher, a mystery writer who found herself solving a new crime in every town she visited. This puts you in the same position as the characters on screen, with the games and the voting keeping you active throughout. It's less a quiet night at the cinema and more a shared experience with the rest of the room.
