Alex Downey plays Alphabet on Saturday 14 November, with the night presented by Headroom. It's a DJ set from one of the UK's most respected vinyl pushers, and the music will span house, techno, tech house and electro.
Downey has built his name over decades, and he's known for a particular kind of three-deck wizardry — playing three turntables at once rather than the usual two. It's a technical way of DJing that lets him layer tracks and build textures in a way you don't get from a standard mix, and it's a good part of why he's held in such high regard across the UK's techno scene.
The night is a Headroom production, and the music will move across house, techno, tech house and electro, so it's not just one sound. If you're into the more technical side of DJing, seeing someone work three decks is a good reason to be there on its own.
