Hamza Yassin brings My Life Behind the Lens to the Brighton Dome Concert Hall on Sunday 31 January 2027, starting at 14:00. It's his first time taking his work to the stage, and the Brighton date is part of his first nationwide theatre tour.
If you've seen his work on screen, you'll know the role he usually plays: he's a wildlife cameraman and presenter, the one behind the lens capturing the natural world. This show flips that around. He'll be sharing the behind-the-scenes tales from his filming expeditions across the globe, the stories that don't usually make it into the final cut. The set is built around breathtaking footage from those trips, paired with personal accounts of what it's actually like to be out there, and an invitation for audiences of all ages to reconnect with the wild world around them.
He's not a stranger to the praise, either. The Telegraph has called him 'the new voice of the natural world', Marian Keyes described him as 'delight and joy personified', and The Guardian called him a 'force of nature'. It's a children's event, so it's designed for families to take in together, though the 'all ages' part means it's as much for the adults as for the kids.

Tickets are £32.50, and Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival members save £2 on the full price. One thing to keep in mind before you book: no unaccompanied under-14s are admitted to the venue, so make sure you've got an adult with you if you're bringing the younger ones along.
