Free pre-release listening party for Gorillaz's ninth studio album, 'The Mountain', featuring collaborations with IDLES, Jalen Ngonda, and others, held at Resident Music.
If you’re looking for something interesting to do later this month, Gorillaz is giving fans a chance to hear their new album early. The event is officially titled the Gorillaz: 'The Mountain' Listening Event (or Listening Party) and it’s happening right here in Brighton on Monday, February 23, 2026. This is a special opportunity to hear their ninth studio album, The Mountain, days before its official release.

The party is being hosted at Resident Music, located in the heart of North Laine. The doors open at 5:00 PM (17:00), so you’ll want to head over to 27-28 Kensington Gardens (BN1 4AL) if you plan on attending. The best part for anyone looking to check it out is the price: entry to this exclusive listening session is completely free.
The Mountain follows up their previous work, Cracker Island, and features 15 new tracks. Gorillaz has brought in an extensive lineup of guests for this record, making the listening experience particularly varied. You’ll hear collaborations with artists like IDLES and Jalen Ngonda, but the list of contributors is much longer, including names such as Sparks, Johnny Marr, Anoushka Shankar, Yasiin Bey, Black Thought, Omar Souleyman, Bizarrap, and Trueno. For those interested in the specifics, IDLES features on the track 'The God of Lying' (Track 6) and Jalen Ngonda is on 'The Moon Cave' (Track 2).
While the official release date for the album is set for late February or March, this event serves as a great sneak peek before the album hits shelves and before the band starts their 'The Mountain Tour' across Europe later this spring. It’s a solid chance to get familiar with the new material in a local setting.
