Fundraiser for Brighton Women's Equinox Service

Daltons is hosting a fundraiser for the Brighton Women's Equinox Service on Wednesday 16 September, a night that pulls together spoken word, jazz and neo-soul. It's a multi-disciplinary evening, so the bill changes shape as it goes rather than sticking to one sound.

The first part of the night pairs spoken word with jazz, with Christopher Luu on keys. From there, Tia Ice takes over on neo-soul vocals. The night closes with a solo set from Tara Lily, who blends jazz with Bengali fusion music. Between the spoken word, the keys, the vocals and the fusion, it's a fair bit of ground to cover in one sitting.

There's a chance of a surprise talk too — the organisers have hinted that an established lecturer from Sussex University might drop in. If that happens, it adds another layer to the mix, moving the evening from a music night into something more of a variety.

It all kicks off at 19:00 at Daltons, which you'll find under Brighton Zip on the Lower Promenade (BN2 1TB). Tickets are £11.00, and the whole thing is raising money for the Brighton Women's Equinox Service.
