A co-promoted night of loud, scrappy, politically charged punk and DIY music across several bands, presented by Garageland Brighton.
Garageland and Daltons are teaming up for a Sunday night of loud, scrappy, politically charged punk and DIY mayhem at Daltons on Sunday 1 November. It's a co-promoted bill that runs the length of the UK's underground, bringing together five bands from Bristol, London and right here in Brighton.
Coming from Bristol are The Menstrual Cramps, a queer-punk four-piece they describe as raw punk, post-punk and riot grrrl energy. They're joined by HISSY FIST, another Bristol outfit — a queer, femme and non-binary political punk collective built on heavy riffs, electrifying beats and ethereal harmonies. From London, French Toast blend punk and soul with a feminist indie-punk edge and a theatrical, unpredictable live show.
The Brighton contingent takes up the rest of the bill. Phat Problem play street-punk that's fast, direct and politically charged, and [Brick] bring transfeminist hardcore punk. Between them, the night covers a fair bit of ground within the DIY punk scene, with the Bristol and London acts travelling down to share the stage with the local names.
