Free Social – The Witches' Coven

The Witches’ Coven is a free social at Alchymis on Saturday 28 November, running from 19:00 to 22:00. It's held in the venue's workshop space, and the evening mixes socialising with witchcraft. Despite the name, it isn't reserved for practising witches: it's for anyone who believes in the maxim 'An' it harm none, do what ye will'.

Throughout the night, people chat, do a little spellwork and play traditional folk games, though taking part isn't obligatory. If you're not in the mood for the more active side of things, quieter activities like colouring and braiding are on hand, so you can just hang out and keep your hands busy without having to commit to anything. It's as much about the chatting as it is about the witchcraft.

All genders, sexualities, spiritualities and beliefs are welcome, with one exception: those who support genocide, legislating the human body or Harry Potter. Cocktails and mocktails can be bought from £2, but they aren't required, and IDs are checked at the door. The event is free, but you'll need to book a ticket in advance as it's capped at 15 people. Alchymis is at 3 Bank Chambers, Preston Circus, BN1 4JQ.
