Fragrances Design Experience

The Perfume Studio is bringing its Fragrances Design Experience to The Old Ship Hotel on Sunday 22 November, a one-day pop-up where you get to make your own perfume from scratch. It's not just a quick spray-and-go; it's a full workshop run by their stylists, and you walk away with a signature scent you've put together yourself.

The session starts with the basics: the stylists walk you through the different scent families and the exclusive blends they work with, so you've got a handle on what you're actually smelling. From there, you sample a wide selection of accords — the building blocks of a fragrance — and start mixing them. The whole point is to build something that reflects your own style, rather than picking a pre-made scent off a shelf. You're the one deciding which notes to lean into and which to keep in the background, and the stylists are there to guide you through the process.

It's run by The Perfume Studio, whose luxury workshops are designed to give you a look inside the world of perfumery. If you've ever wondered how a fragrance is actually built, this is a decent way to see it happen in person. You'll spend the session working through different combinations until you land on a blend that feels right for you, and you take that finished perfume home when you're done.

There are two sessions on the day: one at 12:30 and another from 15:30 to 17:30, so you can pick the time that suits you best. Both are at The Old Ship Hotel, 32-38 Kings Road, BN1 1NR, right on the seafront.
