Five artists working with experiential technologies present digital artworks curated for Dreamy Place 2026, ranging from interactive visual pieces to participatory sound installations.
First-hand opens at The Skiff on Saturday 24 October, bringing together five artists working with experiential technologies. The show is curated for Dreamy Place 2026, and the work on display ranges from the analogue-meets-digital to the invisible made visible.
Caroline Beavon presents static (2026), a maximalist collection of interactive and visual pieces. Among them is the scrollable story Glitch and the sketchbook-meets-scroll Scrollbook. Jasmine Broadhurst and Phoenix Isla Kea take a different approach with Precipitation Network (2026), which materialises network infrastructure through live environmental signals: Wi-Fi traffic, device presence and ambient signals are mapped to light, mist and motion. Piotr Nierobisz's work shifts according to the viewer's perspective, and Julian Weaver's participatory sound installation draws on Colonel George Gouraud's 1904 Brighton Town Council election address, broadcast simultaneously by 100 phonographs. Visitors play, mix and derail the recording in real time using their own mobile devices.
