A creative workshop where attendees transform plain ceramic baubles into personalised keepsakes using monoline lettering and botanical illustration with acrylics.
Creative Feel Designs are running a festive bauble workshop at Starling Studio on Sunday 22 November, from 11:00 to 13:00. The idea is to take plain ceramic baubles and turn them into personalised keepsakes using modern monoline lettering and botanical illustration with acrylics.
You'll start with the lettering side of things, practising the basics of monoline with a gold paint pen. That covers the fundamentals — letterforms, spacing and how to lay things out — so you've got the hang of it before you move on to the more decorative part. From there, you'll embellish your designs with leafy and floral motifs, adding the botanical detail around your lettering. It's a two-part process: the structured lettering first, then the looser, painted illustration to finish it off.
Everything you need is provided on the day, so you don't have to bring a thing. That includes three ceramic baubles to work on, the lettering and decorating supplies, and gift boxes to put them in when you're done. It's pitched as a session for complete beginners, as well as anyone just looking for a mindful, creative activity to get into the festive spirit. Since you're making three baubles, you'll leave with a few finished pieces rather than just one.
