A dragon-themed experience at the Royal Pavilion featuring a trail, quest and exhibition. Special £5 entry offer available for Father's Day.
The DRAGONS exhibition is currently running at the Royal Pavilion, having opened on 28 March and continuing until 1 November 2026. The exhibition focuses on the myths, stories, and symbolism surrounding dragons, drawing on both Chinese and European traditions. It makes use of the palace’s own Chinese-inspired interiors to display these themes, which provides a fitting backdrop for the collection. For families, there is a specific programme of activities designed to engage younger visitors, including a dragon trail and a 'dragon quest'. Children can participate in tasks like finding dragon eggs, guiding baby dragons home, and even stepping inside the mouth of a dragon. There are also hidden dragons to spot in mirrors throughout the building, and visitors can work towards becoming 'Royal Pavilion Dragon Detectives' as they move through the rooms.

If you are looking for a specific time to visit, there is a special offer for Father's Day on Sunday 21 June 2026. On this day, the Royal Pavilion is offering entry for £5. This ticket includes full access to the DRAGONS exhibition. You do not need to book this in advance; you can simply pay at the door when you arrive, making it a straightforward option if you are planning a last-minute trip.
For those interested in a more comprehensive visit, there is a collaboration running between Brighton & Hove Museums and The Ivy Asia Brighton called the Royal Dragons Experience. This package is available from 27 April 2026 until 27 July 2026. It combines a visit to the DRAGONS exhibition—which includes an annual pass to the Royal Pavilion—with a two-course meal and a glass of champagne at The Ivy Asia. The cost for this experience is £58.00 for adults and £36.50 for children. If you are already a member of Brighton & Hove Museums, you are eligible for a reduced price, as you already have access to the Royal Pavilion. The exhibition remains open until 1 November 2026, so there is plenty of time to plan a visit.
