Family craft workshop led by artist Laura Halliwell where children and grown-ups make Halloween spiders and bats inspired by Brighton Dome shows.
Crafty Kids is back at Brighton Dome on Thursday 29 October, with a session called Halloween Spooky Spiders and Chatty Bats. It's part of a series of family craft workshops run by artist and workshop leader Laura Halliwell, aimed at children and grown-ups aged 3 to 10, so it's one of those things you do with your kids rather than one you drop them off at.
The whole series draws its inspiration from the Dome's theatrical performances, so what you make is tied to the shows on the bill. That's the bit that sets it apart from a random craft club: the making is linked to what's actually playing at the venue. For this one, the theme is Spooky Spiders and Chatty Bats, and as with every session, all the materials are provided, so you just turn up and get stuck in.
It's designed for the 3-to-10 age group, and the 'grown-ups' part of the description means it's meant for you to work alongside them. If you've got a little one who's more into making things than watching them, this is a good way to get them involved with the Dome's programme without having to sit through a full show. The sessions are led by Halliwell, who runs the whole Crafty Kids series.
