Cq Wrestling play A L P H A B E T on Thursday 10 December, with the night presented by JOY. It's an over-18s event, so you'll need to be 18 or older to get in.

If the name sounds familiar but doesn't quite ring a bell, that's because it's a new one. Cq Wrestling is the new moniker for the shoegaze-alternative band Chappaqua Wrestling, who've since stepped into a British grunge sound. The project is led by best friends and songwriters Charlie Woods and Jake Mac, and they describe their music as fierce and melodic, rooted in 1990s alternative rock. The songs are fronted by themes of social and political unrest, and on stage they're rounded out by a drummer and a bassist.

It's a bit of a shift from the shoegaze they started with, so if you've followed them since the Chappaqua Wrestling days, this is the grunge version of the band. The 90s alternative influence is right there in the description, and the live line-up — Woods and Mac joined by a drummer and a bassist — is a standard four-piece rock set. The show is presented by JOY, and as mentioned, it's for over-18s only.
