Cool-Aid Comedy - New Material Comedy Night

Cool-Aid Comedy is back at the Caroline of Brunswick on Wednesday 2 September, part of its run as Brighton's longest-running new material comedy night. It's a new material night in the truest sense: the line-up changes every week, and the acts are there to try out new bits rather than lean on their established sets. That's the whole point of it, really—you're seeing the work in progress, the jokes still being hammered out, and the moments that might not quite land alongside the ones that do.

The bill mixes professional and semi-professional comics with competition winners and finalists, and brand new comedians who are just starting out. Because the line-up shifts every Wednesday, you'll get a different combination of experience levels each time. It's a good spot if you're into the process of comedy as much as the punchlines, and it's one of the few nights in the city where you can see a seasoned pro and a complete newcomer on the same bill.

Cool-Aid runs as part of the 'Here Comes The Hotstepper' night, so it's not a standalone show. The venue is the Caroline of Brunswick, 39 Ditchling Road, BN1 4SB. Doors open at 8:00pm, but there's free entry from 7:30pm if you want to get in early and grab a spot. The room is strictly for ages 18 and over.
