Cheap Thrills

Cheap Thrills is on at The Black Lion on Thursday 23 July, and it's not just a one-off. It's a weekly thing that runs every Thursday through to 1 October, so if you can't make this one, there are plenty more to choose from: 30 July, 6, 13, 20, and 27 August, then 3, 10, 17, and 24 September, and finally 1 October. The Black Lion presents it as a Thursday night ritual, and that's a fair way to put it — it's the same slot, same venue, week after week.

As for what's actually on, it's pop anthems and party bangers from the 2000s, 2010s and now. The DJs spin wall-to-wall hits, and the night is built around a packed dancefloor and drinks deals aimed at keeping people out for 'just one more'. It's the kind of night where the songs are the main thing, and you'll recognise almost every track they drop.
