A Thursday night music session featuring pop anthems and party bangers from the 2000s, 2010s and now, with drinks deals.
Cheap Thrills is taking over the Black Lion on Black Lion Street on Thursday nights, with the first one on 30 July. It's a music night built around pop anthems and party bangers from the 2000s, the 2010s and now, and they're running it every Thursday through the summer and into autumn.
The format is straightforward: DJs spinning wall-to-wall hits, a packed dancefloor and drinks deals, the whole thing taking over the Black Lion on Black Lion Street. They describe it as 'your new Thursday night ritual', and the music pulls from three decades of pop โ the 2000s, the 2010s and the current charts โ so it's a fair bit of ground to cover in one night. If you're into the kind of thing that works on a dancefloor, that's the core of it.
It's not a one-off, either. After the 30 July start, it keeps going on 6 August, 13 August, 20 August, 27 August, 3 September, 10 September, 17 September, 24 September and 1 October. That's ten Thursdays in a row, so if you miss one, there's plenty more to choose from.
