Ceilidh the Musical

Ceilidh the Musical comes to the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange from 15 to 20 December, a one-week run that puts you inside one of Scotland's oldest and most beloved traditions: a gathering of songs, stories and dances led by a lively caller, with a dram or two shared along the way. It's an immersive musical, so you're not just watching from a seat; the show is built around the ceilidh itself, and the Corn Exchange is transformed for the week to fit the occasion.

It was created by Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie of Noisemaker, and directed and choreographed by Sam Pinkleton. The show had its UK premiere as part of Alan Cumming's inaugural Pitlochry Festival Theatre season, following a sold-out run in Baltimore. It's presented by Grove Entertainment, Barbara Whitman, Trafalgar Theatre Productions and Eilene Davidson Productions.

It's part of the Dome's festive season, which runs alongside Christmas concerts and singalongs by the Brighton Festival Chorus, the Brighton Gay Men's Chorus and Choir with No Name, Ida Barr's organ-accompanied karaoke 'Organoke', and Circa's circus reimagining of Swan Lake, 'Duck Pond'.

It's suitable for all ages, though under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult. Performances run Tuesday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday with matinees at 2.30pm and evening shows at 7.30pm. Tickets are £33.50, £38.50 and £43.50, and Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival members save £2 on full price.
