Brighton's Festive Makers Fair returns to Wagner Hall on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, with over 80 exhibitors gathered under one roof. It's run by Paper Daisy Events, an independent maker and event company, and has become a regular part of the city's Christmas calendar.
The fair takes over the whole of Wagner Hall, which sits tucked between Churchill Square Shopping Mall and The Lanes. The stalls aren't just in the main indoor hall; they spill across the stage and out into the sheltered Fig Tree Garden courtyard, so there's plenty to wander through. You'll find artists, makers and small-batch producers, and the whole point is that you can chat with them about how they make their things while you shop. It's a good spot if you're looking for something handmade rather than off a shelf.
Beyond the stalls, there's a pop-up cafe serving home-baked sweet and savoury treats and hot drinks, a mulled wine bar for when you need a break, and a workshop where you can make your own Christmas wreath with local professional florists. Last year, visitors called it the best Christmas fair they'd been to, pointing to the quality and variety of the exhibitors.
