A live, multi-sensory musical tribute to Michael Jackson performed by the Sussex String Quartet under the gentle glow of candlelight at the Royal Pavilion.
Candlelight: Tribute to Michael Jackson comes to the Royal Pavilion on Friday 18 September 2026, with two more dates to follow: Saturday 21 November 2026 and 29 January 2027. All three start at 9:00 pm.
The evening is a classical take on the King of Pop's catalogue, played by the Sussex String Quartet. Instead of the original pop production, the songs are reworked as string arrangements, and the whole thing is performed by candlelight. It's part of a global series that does the same with other pop artists in similar settings, so the format is a familiar one: a string ensemble taking a well-known songbook and stripping it back to its melodic bones.

The show runs for 60 minutes, and doors open 45 minutes before the start. It's worth keeping in mind that this is a tribute, not an official production: it's not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Michael Jackson, his estate, or his official representatives. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and the age limit is 8 and over, with under-16s needing to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets start from £27.
