A breakdancing workshop led by professional dancer BGirl Ambush, a Red Bull BC One competitor.
BGirl Ambush is running a breaking workshop at South East Dance on Monday nights this autumn, and it's a long one — it runs for 14 weeks straight from mid-September through to late December.
If you've not come across her before, Ambush is a dancer with Risky Business in London and a Red Bull BC One competitor, which is one of the biggest breaking competitions in the world. She's also a sponsored athlete and a professional dancer, and she describes her craft as something she's honed in the streets, in battles, and on theatre stages. That's a fair bit of ground to cover — the raw, competitive side of breaking alongside the more choreographed, performance side of it — and having someone who's worked across both lead the sessions should give you a good look at the different ways the dance lives.
The workshop runs every Monday from 20:00 to 21:00, starting on 14 September. The dates are 14, 21, 28 September; 5, 12, 19, 26 October; 2, 9, 16, 23 November; and 7, 14, 21 December. That's 14 sessions in total, so it's more of a proper course than a one-off drop-in. If you can't make every single Monday, you can still pick and choose the ones that work for you.

It's all held at South East Dance, 28 Kensington Street, BN1 4AJ, with tickets at £15 per session. Since it's a Monday night, it's an easy way to get some movement into the start of your week without having to trek too far.
