Borrowed Time

Borrowed Time are playing The Pipeline on Friday 9 October, with Fractured and Vampire Slumber Party on the bill. The night is put on by An Alternative Gathering, and it's a punk rock triple-bill that brings together bands from across the south.

Borrowed Time are Gloucestershire's veteran punks, formed in 2013 and built on a DIY ethos. Their sound draws as much from heavy '70s punk as it does from Motörhead, so it's the sort of thing that sits comfortably on the louder, rawer end of the punk spectrum. They're the headliners here, and they'll be sharing the stage with two other acts.

Fractured are a Brighton punk band, and they describe their sound as Sleaford Mods meeting Magazine at a Nightingales gig — a mix of spoken-word grit, post-punk angles, and the kind of jagged energy you'd expect from those three. Rounding out the bill is Vampire Slumber Party, a pop-punk act from South London, which pulls the night in a different direction from the heavier punk of the other two.

The Pipeline is at 16 King's Road, BN1 1NE. Doors open at 8pm, and the music runs from 8:15pm through to 11pm, so it's a full evening rather than a quick turn. Tickets are £11, which includes the booking fee.
