Swedish doom/psych rock band Spiral Skies performs live at The Pipeline, supported by Claymore. Strictly 18+ event.
Spiral Skies play The Pipeline on Friday 13 November, with Claymore opening the bill. It's a Brighton date presented by Paralytic Promotions, and the night is strictly 18+.
Spiral Skies formed in Stockholm in the spring of 2014, drawing on 1970s rock and heavy metal. They describe their own sound as 'on other planets kinda rock', and the early releases give a good sense of where that comes from. Their first single, 'Wizard's Ball', arrived in the autumn of 2014, followed by the debut EP A Queendom to Come on 28 February 2015, which came out on cassette and CD as well as on Spotify and Bandcamp. The track 'Left is right and right is left behind' was picked up by the Swedish rock magazine Close up Magazine, and in 2016 they released the single 'Event Horizon'.
Behind the name is a five-piece: Eric, Jonas, Daniel, Frida and Dan. Frida provides the vocals, and the band is often described as doom/psych with powerful female vocals at the front. That 70s rock and heavy metal influence runs through the whole thing, and the 'other planets' tag points to the psych side of the sound.
