A night of underground house music with Juliet Sikora, co-founder of Kittball Records, at Waterbear.
Juliet Sikora is back in Brighton on Saturday 19 September, playing The WaterBear Venue in the Kings Road Arches. It's a Berlin presents night, and Sikora is a longstanding friend of the label, so this is a return to familiar ground. She's also co-owner of Kittball Records, one of Germany's biggest electronic labels, which gives you a good sense of where she sits in the scene.
She isn't playing alone, though. The line-up is a full spread: NOLAN, Markus Saarländer, Banxi, and Heiko Geritzmann are all on the bill. With five names across the night, there's plenty of room for the set to move around rather than sticking to one mood. The organisers describe the sound as spanning techno, deep house and prog house, so it's a broad tent of underground house music rather than a single, narrow strip.
That range is worth keeping in mind if you're deciding whether to come along. Deep house sits on the steadier, more atmospheric end; techno brings the drive; and prog house stretches things out with longer, evolving builds. Having all three in one night means the energy can shift from a slow burn to something a bit more insistent, and with five DJs, the hand-overs should keep the momentum going across the whole evening.

It's a long one, too. The night kicks off at 8:00 PM on Saturday 19 September and runs right through to 2:00 PM on Sunday 20 September, so if you're planning to stay for the whole thing, you'll be dancing well into the next day. The WaterBear Venue is at 169-170 Kings Road Arches, Brighton.
