Autumnal Watercolour Floral Cards Workshop

Creative Feel Designs are running an autumnal watercolour floral cards workshop at Starling Studio on Thursday 29 October, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a two-hour evening session set up for complete beginners, so you don't need any previous experience with a brush to get involved.

The focus is on making a collection of handmade cards inspired by autumn. Over the course of the evening, you'll work through a few different watercolour techniques: colour blending, layering, and brush control, all leading up to loose seasonal illustrations. Once the painting is down, you'll add the finer details — delicate ink work, botanical line drawing, and hand-lettered touches to finish them off. By the end of the session, you'll have your own set of hand-painted cards to take home, whether you want to gift them or keep them for yourself.

One of the best bits is that everything is provided on the night, so you don't need to bring your own kit. You'll get a selection of greetings cards and envelopes to work on, and there's a tea and coffee station to keep you going while you paint. You also get watercolour guide sheets to take home with you, which is handy if you want to keep practicing after the workshop is over.

It's a relaxed, welcoming session, and because it's pitched at beginners, it's as much about the process as the finished cards.
