Alternative rock band Aqualine on their first UK tour in support of their new EP Tripwire, part of the Artist Investment Scheme.
Aqualine play The Rossi Bar on Thursday 12 November, part of their first UK tour. The Guildford five-piece are out supporting their new EP, Tripwire, and this is one of the dates they're bringing it to.
They describe their sound as a blend of post-punk aggression, grunge and ethereal shoegaze, with bold experimental flourishes. The 90s alternative rock influence is there, alongside the contemporary Crank Wave scene, so it's a mix of the loud and the atmospheric. Tripwire is a raw, emotionally charged record that they say captures the chaos of intrusive thoughts and the weight of imposter syndrome, with songs exploring mental stability, disassociation and self-identity in young adulthood.
The show is part of the Artist Investment Scheme run by The Green Door Store, which books emerging acts at The Rossi Bar. It's a night for a band on their way up, playing new material from the EP they're touring.
