SØWT

SØWT play The Rossi Bar on Wednesday 11 November, part of the GDS x Rossi Bar Artist Investment Scheme (AIS) presented by The Green Door Store, which focuses on emerging tastemaker acts. It's a noise rock four-piece from the Dutch underground — Martijn Claessens, Jesse van Eiken, Koen Verhees and Danielle Warners, who work as musicians, sound engineers, concert organisers and artists.

Their sound draws on 90s grunge, slowcore and post-punk, and they're known for a raw, high-energy live show. They've put out a fair bit of material over the last few years: the self-released tape Junkie's Boneyard in 2018, their first LP Kids Hurting Kids (2023, Bagdaddy Records), the EP Things That Rhyme With Pain (2024), and the LP Is This The Hard Part? (2024, with Subroutine and Bagdaddy Records). Between the two full-lengths, there's a good stretch of their catalogue to dig into.

They've spent a lot of time on the road. They crossed the ocean for their first and second UK tours in 2024, and later supported grunge legends Mudhoney on their full EU tour. They also opened for Canadian MET on their 2024 EU/UK tour in the Netherlands. This Brighton date is part of the AIS series, so it's one of the emerging acts the Green Door Store is putting their weight behind.

The gig runs from 19:00 to 23:00 at The Rossi Bar, 8 Queens Road, Brighton BN1 3WA, with tickets at a standard price of £7.14.
