Open mic night celebrating women in music with live performances and networking, presented by Andrea Dee. Strictly 18+.
Amplify Her brings its open mic and networking night to Waterbear on Wednesday 23 September, presented by Andrea Dee. It's a celebration of women in music, and the night is open to anyone who believes in the power of female voices. The open mic is the main draw, with live performances from women and non-binary musicians, but there's a networking side to it too, so it's as much about meeting people as it is about listening.
Amplify Her is more than just this one night. It's a music platform that works with women and non-binary music professionals through live events, networking sessions, songwriting camps, artist development, mentorship and connections with industry figures. It's hosted more than 250 events, connected over 4,000 women and supported more than 50 industry speakers. Members describe it as a supportive community that pushes them out of their comfort zone.
If you're thinking of performing, there are a few ways to get a slot. You can join the platform's membership, follow its Instagram page โ where a secret word is emailed to announce how to enter โ or simply turn up on the night, when one artist is drawn at random. It's worth keeping in mind that tickets don't guarantee a performance slot, so if you're set on playing, the membership and Instagram routes are your best bet.
