An immersive theatrical cocktail experience where guests smuggle in their own spirits to be mixed into bespoke cocktails by 'inmates' and 'guards' in a simulated prison setting.
If you’re looking for a night out that goes beyond just ordering drinks, the Alcotraz Brighton experience might be exactly what you need. This is an immersive theatrical cocktail event built around a Hollywood prison theme, specifically 'Cell Block One Three'. When you arrive at the venue on Kings Road, you become a 'recluso' for the evening, complete with an orange jumpsuit, interacting with the guards and other actors who run the show. The core of the experience is the unique BYOB policy: they don't sell alcohol here, so you must successfully smuggle in your own spirits (only closed bottles of destilados are allowed) to enjoy the show.

Once your contraband is secured, the mixologists—who are part of the cast—get to work. The ticket price, which generally ranges from around £32.50 up to £44 per person, covers the full theatrical experience and the creation of four personalized cocktails per person. They supply all the necessary ingredients like syrups, bitters, and mixers; you just need to provide the base spirit. For planning purposes, the recommendation is to bring one 35cl bottle for every two people, or a 70cl bottle if you are a group of four. If someone in your party prefers not to drink alcohol, they can prepare 'mocktails' as well. Just remember, since this is strictly a cocktail bar experience, there is no food available on site.
The entire sentence lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes, making it a solid block of entertainment for a date night or a group celebration. You can catch a show almost any day of the week, as they operate Tuesday through Sunday. Show times vary quite a bit: Tuesday and Wednesday run from 19:05 to 20:50, Thursdays and Fridays extend later into the evening, and Saturdays offer the longest window, starting at noon and running until 23:15. Sundays are reserved for afternoon slots, from 14:15 to 18:25. Located specifically at 12-15 Kings Road, it’s important to note that all guests must be 18 or older to attend. Also, for those with mobility concerns, the venue currently does not offer wheelchair accessibility.
