Mixed-gender social sports league for all abilities, with sessions on netball courts at Brighton Girls School.
Active Co. are running their multisport league at Brighton Girls School this September, with sessions on Wednesday 2, 9, 16 and 23. It's a mixed-gender social league for all abilities, so it doesn't matter if you haven't played sport since school or if you're still out on the pitch every weekend.
The format is what sets it apart: instead of one sport for the whole month, they spread a different one across each of the four weeks. You'll play a new game every Wednesday, and the list of what's come through before is a bit of a mixed bag โ dodgeball, rounders, tag rugby, handball, football, endzone and bucketball have all featured. It's a good way to try a few things in one go without having to commit to a full season of just one.
You'll be in teams of six to eight players, and those teams stay together throughout the month, so you're playing with the same people each week. Every session opens with the basics of that week's sport explained and demonstrated, so everyone starts from the same base level before you get stuck in. It takes the pressure off if you're turning up to something you've never played before.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Brighton and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
