Musical tribute to The Cavern Club, endorsed by the venue itself, with live musicians and classic hits.
The Cavern Club Story comes to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Friday 29 January 2027, starting at 7:30pm. It's a musical tribute to The Cavern Club, the Liverpool basement venue that's billed as the most famous in music. The show is fully endorsed by the club itself, so it's not just a loose nod to the place — it's a proper look at its history.
To get why the club matters, you only have to look at the names that passed through its doors. Over more than 70 years, it's launched the careers of countless acts and hosted The Beatles, Cilla Black, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Status Quo, Adele and Oasis. That's a long stretch of music history to cover, from the early Merseybeat days through to the big names of the later decades, and the show works its way through that timeline with live musicians on stage. The whole thing is built around the music that came out of the club, rather than just talking about it.
It's a bit of a trip back to where so much of it started, and having the endorsement from the club itself gives it a bit more weight than your average tribute. If you've spent any time listening to the bands that came out of Liverpool in the sixties, you've already got a foot in the door here.
