SEKTOR X Calabrese Italian Deli Rave

SEKTOR is back at Calabrese Kitchen And Deli on Saturday 26 September, with the night running from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This is the third edition of what's being called Bournemouth's only Italian Deli Rave, and it's built around three things: pizza, Aperol and drum and bass. If you've been before, you know the drill — it's a day-to-evening session that starts early and wraps up by ten, so you're not out until the early hours.

Setting it in a deli gives the whole thing a bit of a nod to the town's dance music history. Back in the 1990s and 2000s, Bournemouth was one of the UK's biggest dance destinations, with venues like The Opera House, The Old Fire Station and Cameo hosting nights that ran through trance, house, hard dance, drum and bass and commercial club music, and promoters bringing major DJs down to the south coast. This is a smaller, more local version of that, with the drum and bass taking centre stage.

It's the third time SEKTOR has done this at Calabrese, so the format is well-worn by now. The music is drum and bass, and the food and drink — the pizza and the Aperol — are as much a part of the night as the DJ set. It's a day-to-night thing, starting at 5:00 pm and finishing at 10:00 pm at Calabrese Kitchen And Deli, Unit 3, Bournemouth.
