An untutored life drawing session led by Wendy Veit, part of the Bournemouth Echo Arts Festival programme.
Wendy Veit is back in the model's chair at The Old School House this Sunday, 4 October, for another life drawing session. It's one of those regular fixtures that runs every Sunday at TOSH Boscombe, so if you've missed the last few, there's always the next one to catch.
The setup is straightforward: these are untutored sessions, which means you're there to draw rather than be taught. There's no instructor leading the room or critiquing your work; you just set up your easel or sketchbook and get on with it. It's a relaxed, friendly environment, and because it's a weekly thing, it's as much about the routine as it is about the drawing. You'll find people of all levels working alongside each other, each doing their own thing.
One thing to keep in mind is that you're expected to bring your own paper, sketchbooks and materials, so make sure your kit is sorted before you head in. The organisers do provide tea and coffee, which is a nice touch for a Sunday evening, and there's free parking on site, so you don't have to worry about the Boscombe parking lottery. This particular session is staged as part of the Bournemouth Echo Arts Festival (BEAF) programme, which puts it alongside a wider run of events across the town.
