A night of live stand-up comedy featuring MC Phil Reid, Sara Johnson, Jason Patterson, and Mike McClean at the Key West Bar and Grill on Bournemouth Pier.
Jongleurs Comedy are bringing a night of stand-up to the Key West Bar and Grill on Thursday 16 July, right at the end of Bournemouth Pier. It's a full line-up, with MC Phil Reid running the evening and Sara Johnson, Jason Patterson, and Mike McClean taking the stage. The whole thing is put on by Jongleurs, a name that's been around the comedy circuit for a long time, so you've got a proper night of stand-up rather than just a couple of acts.
The venue is part of the appeal here. Key West is a bar and restaurant on the pier, known for its panoramic views and its terrace. It's set up for nights out, with a big disco ball and lighting that fits the bill for a comedy club atmosphere. It's the kind of place that runs tribute nights and comedy-with-dinner throughout the year, so it's well-used to having a crowd in for a show.
Because it's a restaurant and bar, the night works as a meal and drinks thing as much as a comedy one. It's aimed at adults and groups of friends, and the organisers explicitly suggest rounding up your mates for it. If you're planning to eat and drink while you watch, it makes for a longer evening than just popping in for the comedy.

Booking is through the venue's own site, www.keywestbournemouth.co.uk, and there's a practical plus to doing it that way: a confirmed booking at Key West gets you free access to the pier (the Pier Toll) from April through October, so you won't have to pay to get out to the end of the pier on the night.
