The Dinnerladies UK tour, a stage adaptation of Victoria Wood's classic sitcom, arrives at the Pavilion Theatre.
Dinnerladies is coming to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29 May 2027, as part of its UK tour. It's a new stage adaptation of Victoria Wood's classic sitcom, and it's the first play of hers produced by her own estate, The Victoria Wood Estate.
If you remember the show, you'll know it's built on the sort of low-key, observational comedy Wood did best: the small frictions and familiar rhythms of a workplace kitchen. The stage version brings that to the Pavilion, with the same sort of character-driven humour that made the sitcom a staple. It's a family-friendly show, and one that leans into the nostalgia of the original, so it'll sit well with anyone who grew up with the series or just enjoys a proper comedy.
Les Dennis leads the cast as Stan, the waiter, and the production is directed by Sean Foley, a double Olivier Award winner. With Foley at the helm, there's a bit of a pedigree behind it, and Dennis taking the lead gives you a good sense of the kind of performance to expect.
