Weekly community gathering with creative workshops, writing sessions and free hot lunch and tea in an inclusive space.
Community Mondays are back at The Old School House in Boscombe, running every Monday from 11am to 1pm throughout the autumn term, which stretches from 7 September to 18 December 2026. It's part of a wider weekly setup run by the Bournemouth Education Arts Foundation (BEAF), with a companion session on Fridays from 3pm to 5pm. Both are free to attend.
The Monday morning session is built around socialising, with creative workshops and writing sessions as the main draw. You can spend the morning meeting new people, getting stuck into arts and gardening, and having a chat over a free hot lunch and tea. It's a low-pressure way to spend a few hours if you're looking for something to do during the week.
If you can't make the morning, the Friday afternoon session from 3pm to 5pm includes a free homecooked meal at the Social Canteen, with a vegetarian option. Both the Monday and Friday gatherings are described as inclusive and welcoming spaces for positivity, support and creativity, and they've been running since 2023, when they first launched with support from Warm Welcome Spaces.

The venue itself, The Old School House (TOSH) on Gladstone Road, dates back to a 2015 refurbishment that turned what were then just four fruit trees into The Orchard Garden. Across Boscombe, BEAF provides a range of creative spaces, including artist studios, exhibition and production rooms, hireable meeting rooms and a community garden, alongside programmes that grow local skills and talent and support health and well-being, creative careers, freelancing and self-employment. Wifi and charging points are available on site. Community Mondays run 11am-1pm, Fridays 3pm-5pm, both free.
