A fully improvised comedy show inspired by Jane Austen's works, where the cast improvise a brand-new novel based on an audience-suggested title.
Austentatious comes to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 18 October, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's an improvised comedy show built around the works of Jane Austen, and the whole thing is made up on the spot. Each night the cast improvise a brand-new Jane Austen novel, with the title suggested by the audience, so no two shows are ever the same. They perform in period costume with live musical accompaniment, and the whole thing runs for about an hour and 50 minutes.
It's an award-winning West End hit that's also played the Edinburgh Fringe, sell-out tours and Radio 4. The cast rotates, and over the years it's featured TV and radio names like Cariad Lloyd (QI, Inside No. 9, The Witchfinder), Joseph Morpurgo, Rachel Parris and Graham Dickson. The Times called it 'ridiculously silly... wickedly funny'.

Because the title comes from the crowd, the plot is built in front of you, and the period costumes and live music carry it through. It's recommended for ages 14 and over, so it's one you can bring a teenager along to. Tickets start from £27.50, and the show starts at 7:30pm at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre.
