Anton At Christmas

Anton Du Beke brings his new festive show, Anton At Christmas, to the Bournemouth International Centre on Monday 21 December. It's one of eight UK dates he's playing across the country that month, so if you're around Bournemouth during the Christmas run, this is the one to keep on your radar.

On stage, Du Beke shares the spotlight with vocalist Lance Ellington, a live band, and a professional troupe of dancers. Together they run through a mix of dance routines and musical numbers, with the dancers filling out the room around them. It's a full-ensemble show rather than a solo turn, so there's a fair bit of movement and music going on at once.

There's a personal side to it, too. Du Beke is a father to nine-year-old twins, and he's spoken about why the season means so much to him: he says Christmas is quite simply the most wonderful time of the year and that it holds a particular magic for him. That comes through in the show, which he describes as being about sparkle, laughter and festive cheer in equal measure.

If you've followed him on Strictly Come Dancing as a judge and a pro, you'll recognise the same warmth and glamour he's known for. This is his first time taking that particular energy into a full Christmas production of his own, and with Ellington and the band on hand, the musical side of things gets as much attention as the dancing.
