An electrifying tribute show celebrating the music and career of Tina Turner, featuring an all-live band and a high-energy performance of her greatest hits.
Holly Bannis brings What's Love Got To Do With It? to The Alexandra on Sunday 6 December, a tribute show built around the music and the long career of Tina Turner. It's an all-live band production, and the set is a whistle-stop tour of her hits: 'Private Dancer', 'What's Love Got To Do With It?', 'Proud Mary', 'River Deep', 'Nutbush City Limits' and 'Simply The Best' are all on the list. The show runs for two hours and 15 minutes, including an interval.
Beyond the songs, there's a story that runs through the night. It starts in Nutbush, the small town in rural Tennessee where Anna May Bullock first found fame in the 1950s and 60s alongside Ike Turner, and follows her through her later emancipation and the 1980s comeback that established her as one of the greatest artists of all time. It's a tribute production, not endorsed or affiliated by the Tina Turner Estate.
